Some free guides to consult

Of course you can carry around huge books of the famous brands - and certainly they're famous because they are effective, pretty correct, well researched and full of information you may or may not need - but because I am a fan of open source, open information stuff, I'd like to point to Wikitravel from the guys that bring you the free Encyclopedia, as well as World66, in case you want some different information. Now I am curious whether this will be very successful, but who knows. We might add some info when we are travelling. For national parks in the US the National Parks Service seems most trustworthy, though. Have a look at their map for backpacking visitors in Denali Park.
