Cave diving in Tulum

Yucatan is the Mecca for divers, because of the presence of so-called cenotes, water holes in the limestone layers of the ground. Normal divers could, but should not enter these caves, as diving in them entails some added risk: in case of emergency you cannot 'just' surface like in other diving. What you need to acquire for a safe dive is additional training, safety reels, double tanks with separate regulators, and 3 lights. Furthermore, divers are limited with regard to air, depth, duration and distance in the cave.

Anyway, this was a good chance for me to extend my diving skills and gain an 'Intro to cave diving' training at Acuatic Tulum. Rebecca did her open water there...
